Filmmaker

Paige Kimble was raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA. She picked up an appetite for science fiction at a very young age, then feminism/social justice, but didn’t consider media as a career until her junior and senior years of high school.

Paige attended Smith College as an undergraduate, where she learned the wonders of digital video and non-linear editing, among piles of theory.  She also was involved in the Smith Science Fiction and Fantasy Society in possibly too many ways. Paige received a BA in 2006, majoring in American Studies with a focus on popular culture and minoring in Film Studies.

Somewhere along the line she became an unapologetic geek.

After several years in the workforce, Paige went to the University of Birmingham to work on her MA in History, Film and Television (oddly named, it’s film/tv production, for the most part). As part of that, she has become particularly interested in online subcultures, community building, and new media. Watching the Skies is her dissertation, due to be adjudicated in Spring 2011.

Paige now resides with her partner in Glasgow, Scotland, where she is glad for Doctor Who on iPlayer, and is not fond of writing in the third person.
