A Brief Interlude: Signs You Won't See At The Computer Lab...

EDIT (7/9/04): I just realized that a lot of these sound like either songs by country artists or Weird Al Yankovic. Or maybe some combination of the two, if said Country Al worked in a computer lab by day.
Chapter the Twenty-Fifth: I'm Melting
I hate to admit it, but the title of this entry has two meanings.
It is hotter than hell in here. Really. I'm on the third floor of a house built originally in 1700, and they designed the place to keep warmth in. Add to that the fact that I'm nestled away in a corner area, and that I only have one window, which faces southeast (I think. I'm not certain, and I don't have a compass.), and the fact that my computer acts as a space heater, and you get a rather uncomfortable Paige.
And of course, there's no AC, because this is a historical site. Or maybe there is AC, it's just only in the downstairs. I really can't tell.
This, meanwhile, alternates with the comparative cold of the labs. I wouldn't bitch so much, but heat aggravates my migraine problem, which in turn makes me cranky. More cranky.
I really wish I had a digital camera to show you all what it looks like here (not my room, since it's a mess). I almost want to take a boat out to the island in Paradise Pond, but my schedule is so strange that I'm not sure when I'd find someone else to come with me.
The second reason for the title is the fact that I've been suckered in by
Wicked, enough that I'm considering going to New York and trying to get student rush tickets. If I had someone to go with. Any takers?
Meanwhile, there's an easy way to tell that things are horribly slow around here--even Jolt postings have slid to a minimum, despite the announcement of the Kerry/Edwards ticket today (only one thread and twenty-six replies to it!). As for myself, I think I'm going to call an early night, turn off the computer, and read some more of the books I'm working through right now. A happy birthday to Liz of
Summer in DC, by the way.
